2019 Winter Season

Join us in our 2019 season. We field 5 open-age and 2 Masters (over 32) women’s teams.

We welcome players of all abilities, with teams ranging from beginner and social to experienced and competitive. Whether you’re an experienced player, a junior, a traveller, an ex-hockey player looking to return to the sport, or just wanting to try something new, we’d love to have you down at our club with us!

When are trainings?

Winter season is on our home pitch (Hockey Drive, St Kilda)

Tuesday:

  • 7pm to 8pm (Pennant B, D and Metro B)
  • 7pm to 8.30pm (PL and PLR)

Thursday:

8pm to 9.30pm fitness followed by 1 hour pitch training (PL, PLR/Pennant B)

Can juniors play in the seniors competition?

Our junior members are encouraged to attend for the first hour of senior training on either a Tuesday (following junior training) and are also encouraged to play in the senior competition. This allows for the Senior girls to interact with the younger club players and build a sense of club community, which is evident from the Juniors who assist on game day with their ball-kid skills!

Summer hockey competitions

In the off-season (October to January) we field both a women’s social team and a mixed team.  If you are interested in joining one of these teams please email us.

Men’s Competition (Open Age)

Powerhouse St Kilda Hockey Club Men’s Section will be fielding 6 open-age sides in 2016 and welcome any new players for the following teams:

  • Premier League
  • Premier League Reserves
  • Pennant B
  • Pennant F
  • Metro A/B (two teams)

When is training?

Premier League and Reserves

Tuesday: 7pm to 8.30pm at the State Netball and Hockey Centre

Thursday: 7pm to 8.30pm at our home ground at Albert Park (warm up from 6.30pm)

Pennant and Metro

Tuesday: 8.30pm to 10pm at our home ground at Albert Park

Women’s Competition (Open Age)

We welcome anyone and everyone from new players, international travellers to juniors – we encourage you to get involved in the Senior teams listed.

Juniors’ Competition (Under 18s)

Powerhouse Juniors welcomes all new players from beginners to experienced players.
In 2020 we hope to have have 10 girls, boys, mixed teams entered in the Hockey Victoria Winter Competition, including Shield, Pennant and District teams from U12 – U18s.
We offer a great U10 local competition as part of the Central Flames which is played on a 1/4 field and uses modified hockey rules.
The Club also runs a Hookin2Hockey program for beginners in Terms 1-4.

During the Summer Season, Powerhouse Juniors are also very active in our local Summer 6s comp played at Hawthorn and HV Indoor Hockey comps at MSAC.

Winter Training

Regular training for Juniors is at Albert Park Hockey and Tennis Centre (Hockey Drive, St Kilda) and starts after the Grand Prix n late March. Please refer to our Junior webpage for more information regarding H2H, age group eligibility and preseason training dates:

U10s/H2H – Mondays
U12s -Tuesdays
U16s – Wednesdays
U14s – Thursdays

Master’s Competition (Over 31s)

Masters hockey provides an excellent opportunity for players aged 35+, both new and experienced, to enjoy playing hockey with flexible mid-week play, when growing families or busy lifestyles make weekend play difficult.

We have a range of Masters teams available, and one of them is sure to provide the right competitive and/or social environment to suit your playing requirements.

Competition

  • Men’s Masters 35+ and 45+: Monday evenings
  • Men’s Masters 50+: Wednesday evenings
  • Women’s Masters 35+: Wednesday evenings
